Avian Disease Testing

Our avian boarding facility requires psittacosis and beak and feather testing prior to boarding. You can schedule an appointment with us for a blood test that goes to a lab and takes an average of 2-3 weeks to receive results. If boarding is needed on an emergency basis, please contact the office to discuss.

Boarding Policies

All animals boarding with KBAH need a physical up to date within the year with a KBAH doctor. Boarding drop-off/ pick-up times are Monday-Friday, 8am-11am and 1pm-4pm, and Saturday 8am-11am.

• All Avian boarders need to have a negative psittacosis and Beak and Feather test on file.
• All rabbit boarders need to have an up-to-date RHDV vaccine.
• All ferret boarders need to have an up-to-date rabies and distemper vaccine, unless they have had a reaction in the past.

Waiting Room Policy

For your safety and the safety of our staff and animals in our care, we require that all animals be placed on a leash or in pet carriers while in the waiting room. Which includes all small mammals and birds.  If you do not have a carrier, then you will be asked to wait in your car until appointment

Exam Room Policy

Please allow us to care for your pet at all times after he enters the exam room. We always act in the best interest of you and your pet, so we ask that you follow any instructions that our veterinarian and technician give. This will ensure that any procedure goes as quickly and smoothly as possible.

No Show Fee/Cancellation Policy

We reserve the right to reschedule your appointment if you are 15 minutes late.  

If no confirmation is received 24 hours before your appointment, we reserve the right to cancel the appointment. A $70 fee will be applied per animal for any missed appointments or cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the appointment.

Appointments

We require a $70 down payment to book an appointment for new clients. In the result of a no-show, this fee will not be refunded and will be applied as a no-show fee.

Surgery

A $150 fee will be assessed per animal for any missed surgical appointments or surgical cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance..
